We all live busy lives, and are constantly on the go. So in order to cope with our busy schedules we tend to pick up one or maybe two caffeine drinks a day. Even though one energy drink or cup of coffee isn’t bad, one could still overdose on caffeine. Caffeine raises the heart rate to provide energy. By consuming more than the recommended amount of caffeine can be detrimental to ones health.

Today KTVU news channel reported of a 16 year old boy living in Colombia, S.C. who died from having heart problems. The boy didn’t have any pre-existing heart problems for the time of death. The coroner says the boy died from a caffeine overdoes brought on by consuming  a large Mountain Dew, a latte from McDonald’s and an energy drink in the two hours before his heart fell out of rhythm. Even though one or two drinks can be okay, large quantities can be dangerous. So we all need to be more conscience on what we consume and pay attention to the amount of caffeine we put into our bodies in order stay healthy.
